Automatically trigger workflows when opportunities stay open for a set number of days—so you can re-engage leads and keep your pipeline healthy.
Not every sales opportunity progresses as expected. Prospects stop responding, follow-up tasks get delayed, decision-makers become unavailable, and opportunities can remain open for weeks or months without meaningful movement. When this happens, valuable revenue opportunities may quietly disappear from the pipeline.
BizStackPro's Stale Opportunities workflow trigger allows businesses to automatically identify opportunities that have remained open for a specified period of time, helping teams launch follow-up campaigns, notify sales representatives, create tasks, and maintain healthier pipelines.
Without stale-opportunity automation, businesses may overlook aging deals, lose visibility into stalled prospects, delay re-engagement efforts, or rely on manual pipeline reviews that become difficult to maintain as opportunity volume increases.
This guide explains how the Stale Opportunities trigger works, how duration and pipeline filters control workflow entry, and how businesses can create more proactive sales-management systems inside BizStackPro.
Before automating stale opportunity detection, it helps to understand how pipelines, opportunity stages, sales follow-up processes, CRM records, task management, workflow automation, lead nurturing, and revenue operations work together inside BizStackPro.
The Stale Opportunities workflow trigger adds a contact to a workflow when an associated opportunity remains in an open status for a specified number of days. It’s designed to help you spot stalled deals, re-engage prospects, and keep opportunities from falling through the cracks.
Once the opportunity meets your duration requirements (and any filters you set), BizStackPro automatically starts the workflow so your follow-ups, notifications, and pipeline updates run without manual tracking.
Best practice: Add an action that changes the opportunity status (or moves it to a different stage) after your follow-up runs—so the same opportunity doesn’t qualify again later.
Before using this trigger, confirm your account is set up for opportunity tracking:
Duration in Days is required. It defines how long an opportunity can remain open before BizStackPro considers it stale.
Repeat behavior: The trigger can fire again at multiples of your duration (for example, 30, 60, 90 days) unless the opportunity status changes.
Repeat prevention tip: After your follow-up runs, move the opportunity out of open (for example, set to abandoned, review, or update to a different status/stage) so it no longer qualifies.
Filters help you focus on the exact pipelines, stages, and contacts you want.
Save the trigger after configuring your filters.
