Update or clear custom contact fields inside workflows so your CRM data stays accurate, consistent, and ready for personalization.
Customer information changes throughout the customer journey. New details are collected through forms, appointments, purchases, surveys, onboarding processes, and ongoing interactions, making accurate record management essential.
BizStackPro's Update Contact Field workflow action automatically updates custom contact fields as workflow conditions are met, helping businesses maintain accurate CRM records without repetitive manual data entry.
Without automated field updates, businesses may work with outdated information, create inconsistent customer records, reduce personalization effectiveness, or spend significant time manually maintaining CRM data.
This guide explains how the Update Contact Field workflow action works, how custom fields can be updated or cleared automatically, and how to build more reliable data management systems inside BizStackPro.
Before updating contact fields automatically, it helps to understand how custom fields, workflow triggers, CRM records, customer segmentation, personalization data, and automation logic work together inside BizStackPro.
The Update Contact Field workflow action lets you change the value of a specific contact field while a workflow is running. You can write a new value using a static entry or dynamic fields, or you can clear a field (when supported) to reset it.
Important: You can only clear custom contact fields. Standard fields like first name, last name, email, and phone are not supported for clearing.
Tip: Use dynamic values to keep updates consistent (example: store the “source” of a lead, last form submitted, or last appointment type in a custom field).
To clear a field, you’ll typically set the custom field to an empty value using the action configuration.
Reminder: Clearing only works for custom contact fields—not system fields.
Use workflows to standardize and maintain CRM fields without manual edits—so segmentation and personalization stay accurate as your list grows.
