Use Set Event Start Date to anchor your workflow to a specific date and time—then trigger reminders or follow-ups before, after, or exactly at that moment.
Many business processes revolve around important dates such as webinars, appointments, launches, onboarding events, training sessions, and customer milestones. Sending communications at the wrong time can reduce engagement and create a poor customer experience.
BizStackPro's Set Event Start Date workflow action creates a time-based reference point that workflows can use to schedule actions before, after, or exactly at a specific event.
Without event-based timing controls, businesses may rely on fixed wait periods that fail to align with actual customer schedules, causing reminders, follow-ups, and notifications to arrive too early or too late.
This guide explains how the Set Event Start Date workflow action works, how event timing interacts with workflow waits, and how to build more accurate time-based automation systems inside BizStackPro.
Before creating event-based automations, it helps to understand how workflow triggers, event dates, wait actions, customer time zones, appointment scheduling, and automated communication timing work together inside BizStackPro.
The Set Event Start Date action stores a single reference date/time inside your workflow. Once set, you can pair it with a Wait for Event/Appointment Time action to run steps before, after, or exactly at the event time.
Think of it like a timer anchor: you set the “event moment” once, then you can build multiple timed waits around it.
Choose the option that best matches your setup:
Timezone note: You set the event time in your timezone. The workflow adjusts delivery based on each contact’s timezone. If a contact timezone isn’t available, it defaults to your account timezone.
Test using a near-future event time to confirm timing behavior, then publish when ready.
Pro tip: If you run multiple reminders (24h before, 1h before, and 15m before), you can keep a single event anchor and add multiple Wait steps.
Combine event dates, waits, email, and SMS in one workflow—without juggling multiple tools or complex integrations.

Yes. You can add multiple Set Event Start Date/Time actions within the same workflow to manage different events or update the event date/time more than once.
That depends on your Wait for Event/Appointment Time settings. If the time is already in the past, the workflow can proceed, jump to a specific step, or skip to the next wait step based on your configuration.
It’s possible, but it’s typically not very useful. The main purpose is to provide a reference point for time-based Wait actions.
You set the event start date/time in your timezone, and the workflow adjusts it based on each contact’s timezone. If no contact timezone is available, it defaults to your account’s timezone.
Set Event Start Date gives you precise control over when automation happens—before, after, or exactly on schedule.
Cleaner timing. Better follow-up.
