Automatically mark conversations as read/unread and archive/unarchive threads using workflows—so your team stays focused on what needs attention right now.
Customer communication becomes harder to manage when conversations stay unread after resolution, completed interactions remain in active inbox views, or teams spend extra time manually organizing conversations.
BizStackPro workflow automation can update conversation status automatically so inbox organization happens behind the scenes as contacts reply, appointments finish, or tasks are completed.
Without conversation management automation, businesses may create inbox clutter, overlook important conversations, slow team response time, or spend unnecessary effort maintaining inbox organization manually.
This guide explains how the Edit Conversation workflow action works, how conversation status updates can be automated, and how to build cleaner inbox systems inside BizStackPro.
Before automating inbox organization, it helps to understand how conversation triggers, workflow actions, archive settings, read status controls, and workflow automation work together inside BizStackPro.
The Edit Conversation action gives you simple “inbox hygiene” controls that run automatically when a workflow trigger fires. Use it to keep Recents clean, reduce clutter, and prevent missed messages.
Good to know: This action changes the conversation’s state in your inbox. It does not send a message to the contact.
You’ll configure two fields. Each field can be set to a specific change, or to None to leave it as-is.
Important: If both fields are set to None, the action will run but nothing will change.
Tip: Give the action a clear internal name like “Archive after resolution” or “Mark read on reply” so it’s easy to spot later in logs.
Best practice: Pair this action with a clear “resolution” moment (reply received, appointment completed, task done) so your inbox rules match real workflow outcomes.
Want to keep your Recents focused on active conversations only? Archive automatically when the interaction is handled.
Result: You reduce clutter in Recents while keeping the full message thread available for review.
Pair conversation-based triggers with inbox actions to stay responsive, reduce noise, and make sure nothing gets missed.
Opens in a new tab.
It automatically updates a conversation’s state: mark it read/unread and archive/unarchive it based on your workflow trigger.
Yes. Use it after “resolution” triggers like Contact Replied, Appointment Completed, or Task Completed.
The action runs, but it won’t change anything.
No. This only changes your inbox view. Add a separate message or notification action if you want outreach.
Not directly. It applies when a conversation enters automation via a trigger, so use workflows to clean up conversations as they occur.
Use workflows to apply consistent inbox rules automatically—so your team can focus on the conversations that matter most.
Less clutter. Faster response.
