Twilio provides digital phone numbers that integrate with BizStackPro. For Australian users, additional regulatory compliance requirements may apply before you can purchase and activate certain Twilio numbers.

If you’re unsure whether this applies to your subscription, contact BizStackPro Support or your system administrator. Before you begin, make sure you’ve completed the main setup steps in your Complete Twilio Setup process.

Important: Requirements vary by number type (Local vs Mobile vs Toll-Free) and whether you are an individual or a business. Ensure the details you submit match your official documents exactly.

Local Numbers

Requirements differ for individuals and businesses purchasing Australian local numbers.

Individuals

  • Provide your name and a business address (must be within Australia).
  • Name must match your official identification.
  • Address must be within the region covered by the phone number’s prefix.
  • PO Boxes are not accepted when a local address is required.

Businesses

  • Provide official business name and business address within Australia.
  • Name must match the legal registration.
  • PO Boxes are not accepted.

Note: If the number is from a different charging district, calls may be billed as if located in that district, and porting to another provider may not be possible.

Mobile Numbers

Individuals

  • Provide name and address (must be within Australia).
  • Name may be verified via government ID or passport.
  • Address may be verified using ID, tax notice, utility bill, rent receipt, or title deed.

Businesses

  • Provide business name, business address (within Australia), and a Business ID number.
  • Name and ID must match a commercial registry.
  • Address may be verified using commercial registry documents, utility bills, tax notices, etc.

Toll-Free Numbers

Individuals

  • Name and address required (address does not need to be in Australia).
  • No documentation verification is required.

Businesses

  • Business name and address required (address does not need to be in Australia).
  • No documentation verification is required.

Troubleshooting Regulatory Bundles

If you’re having trouble completing or using a regulatory bundle, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Twilio Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Sub-Accounts.
  3. Select the sub-account where the regulatory bundle was approved.
  4. Go to Phone Numbers → Manage → Buy a Phone Number.
  5. Select Australia and uncheck fax capability.
  6. Choose a number and click Buy.
  7. Fill out the form in the popup and click next.
  8. Do not configure anything else inside Twilio afterward.
  9. Return to BizStackPro → Settings → Phone Numbers.
  10. The purchased number will appear with an Add button. Click it and configure as usual.

Tip: If the bundle keeps failing, re-check that your name/business name and address match your supporting documents exactly (formatting differences can matter).
