Diagnose incorrect evaluations, stuck contacts, missing criteria, looping branches, and missing If/Else options so your workflow logic runs cleanly.
Workflow automations can behave unpredictably when If/Else conditions evaluate incorrectly, contacts get stuck in branches, or looping logic keeps retriggering the same automation steps.
BizStackPro If/Else actions rely on accurate contact data, properly configured operators, clean workflow structure, re-entry settings, and correctly timed field or tag updates to route contacts through automations correctly.
Without reliable conditional logic, businesses may send the wrong follow-ups, trap contacts inside loops, interrupt automation sequences, or create inconsistent customer experiences across workflows.
This guide explains how to troubleshoot incorrect If/Else evaluations, fix stuck contacts, resolve missing criteria problems, prevent looping workflows, and stabilize conditional logic inside BizStackPro automations.
Before troubleshooting advanced workflow behavior, it helps to understand how contact data, operators, tags, custom fields, re-entry settings, and branch timing work together inside BizStackPro If/Else automations.
The If/Else action in BizStackPro workflows lets you branch your automation based on conditions like tags, custom fields, activity, or other contact attributes. When it’s configured correctly, it helps you deliver the right follow-up at the right time.
If your results don’t match expectations, use the troubleshooting cards below to identify what’s happening, why it happens, and the fastest fix.
Quick tip: If/Else conditions evaluate the current state of the contact at the moment they reach the step. If a tag/field is added later (or inside a different branch), results can look “wrong” even though the logic is working.
This usually shows up when contacts go down the unexpected branch, or the outcome doesn’t match what you believe should be true.
Best practice: Test with a known contact (you control the tags/fields) and confirm the value in the contact record right before the If/Else step runs.
If contacts reach the If/Else action but never proceed, the workflow is typically waiting on a prerequisite, a time window, or another step preventing progression.
If you can’t find a tag, custom field, or event in the condition builder, it’s usually a data-availability or support limitation.
Repeated triggering usually means re-entry is enabled, the trigger fires multiple times, or the workflow path routes contacts back into the same conditional step.
Example guard: If contact has tag workflow_completed → exit / do nothing. Else → continue through your If/Else logic.
When the If/Else action is missing from the add-step menu, it’s commonly a loading/session issue or a template-specific UI view.
If/Else actions work best when the data is prepared before the branch, re-entry is controlled, and each path has a clear end-state.

This usually means the condition logic or operators are misconfigured, or the contact’s stored data doesn’t match the expected value. Confirm operators (is vs contains), verify the contact record, and test using a known sample contact.
Contacts can appear stuck if the required data isn’t available yet, a prior Wait step is delaying execution, time windows apply, or a stop/removal action interrupts the workflow. Verify upstream steps and ensure conditions are true before the If/Else runs.
The tag/field may not exist at the contact level or hasn’t been used on any contacts. Create/confirm it, apply it to at least one contact, refresh the builder, or use a tag-based workaround for unsupported event criteria.
Looping usually happens when re-entry is enabled and triggers repeat, or the workflow routes contacts back into the same If/Else step. Adjust re-entry settings and add a completion tag/guard condition to prevent repeats.
If/Else may be missing if the builder hasn’t fully loaded, your session is stale, or a template changes how actions are displayed. Refresh, restart your session, try incognito/another browser, or create a new workflow to confirm availability.
When your If/Else conditions are clear, your data is ready before the branch, and re-entry is controlled, your automations run smoothly without stuck contacts or surprise loops.
Cleaner logic. Better automation outcomes.
