Tags help you categorize, filter, and automate contact management in BizStackPro. Use them to organize leads, personalize messaging, segment Smart Lists, and trigger workflows automatically.
As contact databases grow, it becomes harder to track behaviors, interests, statuses, and follow-up needs using only pipelines or basic contact information.
Tags in BizStackPro act as flexible labels that can be applied to contacts for segmentation, filtering, personalization, automation, and lifecycle tracking across the CRM.
Without a consistent tagging system, contact records can become difficult to organize, Smart Lists lose accuracy, automation becomes harder to manage, and targeted communication becomes less effective.
This guide explains how to create and manage tags, apply them manually or through automation, organize imports with tags, and use tagging strategies to improve segmentation and workflow management.
Before building automation or Smart Lists, it helps to understand how tags are structured and used throughout BizStackPro.
Tags are flexible labels you apply to contacts to organize and categorize them. Unlike pipeline stages (which usually represent one place in a process), tags are more granular—you can apply multiple tags to a single contact to represent behaviors, interests, statuses, or attributes.

Tags can be added or removed automatically based on actions and events. Common automation triggers include:
In Contacts, use Bulk Actions to select multiple contacts and apply (or remove) tags at scale.
Naming tips: Use short, text-only tags (spaces are fine). Avoid special characters like & or # because they may not filter reliably.
Example naming convention: Stage: DemoBooked, Interest: FacebookAds, Status: VIP
A strong tag strategy makes segmentation, targeting, and automation dramatically easier—especially as your list grows.
