Search, retrieve, and reuse Google Sheets row data directly inside your workflows.
As business data grows, spreadsheets often become repositories for customer records, leads, orders, appointments, inventory, project information, and reporting metrics. Manually locating specific records can become time-consuming and inefficient.
BizStackPro's Google Sheets Lookup Spreadsheet Row action allows workflows to search for matching records automatically and retrieve row data that can be reused throughout the automation process.
Without automated lookup capabilities, teams may spend valuable time searching spreadsheets manually, create duplicate records, miss important information, or struggle to synchronize spreadsheet data with CRM and workflow systems.
This guide explains how Lookup Spreadsheet Row works, how search criteria are configured, and how businesses can use spreadsheet data to power smarter workflow automation inside BizStackPro.
Before retrieving spreadsheet data automatically, it helps to understand how Google Sheets integrations, lookup actions, custom variables, workflow conditions, data synchronization, and business automation work together inside BizStackPro.
The Google Sheets Lookup Spreadsheet Row premium action lets you search a spreadsheet for a specific row using one or more column values. Once found, the entire row’s data is stored as custom variables that can be reused throughout your workflow.
Why use Lookup?
When a row is found, values under each header are stored as custom variables. These values can be used in any workflow action, including messages, conditions, updates, or routing logic.
Row number reference
To retrieve the row number from the lookup, use:
where x is the lookup index.
Each Lookup action automatically generates an index that maps the returned row to custom variables. This index is required for internal mapping and cannot be edited or removed.
By default, lookup searches are not case-sensitive. You can enable case sensitivity for exact matches when needed.
John = johnJohn ≠ johnIf no matching row is found, any Google Sheets actions referencing the lookup are skipped. You can use If/Else conditions to decide whether to create a new row, update an existing row, or take another action.
Lookup actions let you treat Sheets like a database—powering smarter workflow decisions.
