How to Point a Domain or Sub-Domain to WordPress

Overview

Pointing your domain to WordPress is what makes your site reachable at the web address you want people to type. In BizStackPro WordPress Hosting, you’ll add your domain inside the WordPress domain manager and then update DNS at your registrar using the records provided (TXT verification + A/CNAME records).

Add a Root Domain as Your Primary Domain

1. Go to Sites → WordPress → Manage Domains.
2. Click Add Domain or Sub-domain.
3. Enter your root domain (example: yourdomain.com).
4. Click Add Domain.
5. Copy the two TXT records generated by the dashboard.
6. Add both TXT records at your DNS provider.
7. Add the provided A record at your DNS provider.
8. Return to BizStackPro, confirm DNS updates are made, and click Verify Records.

Add the WWW Version of Your Domain

After your root domain is added, it’s recommended to add the www version so both work for visitors.

1. Click Add Domain again in the domain manager.
2. Add www.yourdomain.com.
3. Add the provided CNAME record at your DNS provider.
4. Return and verify once DNS is updated.

Add a Sub-Domain

Sub-domains (like go.yourdomain.com) are added in the same domain manager and usually require TXT + CNAME records during setup.

• Click Add Domain or Sub-domain.
• Enter the sub-domain (example: go.yourdomain.com).
• Add the provided TXT and CNAME records at your DNS provider.
• Return to BizStackPro and click Verify Records.

How to Change Your Primary Domain

Your primary domain is the main address used for your WordPress site. Other connected domains usually redirect to the primary domain.

1. Open Manage Domains for your WordPress site.
2. Click the three-dot menu next to the domain you want.
3. Select Make as Primary Domain.

DNS Propagation Timing

DNS changes can be instant, but global propagation can take minutes to 48 hours depending on your registrar and TTL.
