How to Delete a Twilio Phone Number

Remove, delete, or reset Twilio numbers inside BizStackPro while keeping control of your Twilio sub-account, webhooks, and number retention options.

Removing or Resetting Phone Numbers Without Breaking Your Call Routing

Phone number management can quickly create problems when Twilio numbers are deleted incorrectly, released accidentally, or reset without understanding how webhook routing works.

BizStackPro phone systems rely on Twilio number ownership, webhook configuration, sub-account management, and routing settings to keep calls, messages, and automations functioning correctly.

Without proper deletion or reset procedures, businesses may lose access to phone numbers, break call routing, interrupt messaging systems, or create webhook issues that disrupt customer communication.

This guide explains how to safely delete or reset Twilio phone numbers, retain ownership when needed, rebuild webhook routing, and avoid accidental number release problems inside BizStackPro.

Before deleting or resetting a phone number, it helps to understand how Twilio ownership, webhook routing, sub-account management, number retention, and release settings work together inside BizStackPro.

Overview

BizStackPro lets you delete a Twilio number from your location or reset it while retaining the number inside your Twilio sub-account. Use the steps below to manage numbers safely and avoid webhook or routing issues.

Deleting a Twilio Number

  1. Go to Phone Numbers: Navigate to Settings → Phone Numbers.
  2. Select the number: Find the number you want to remove, click the three dots, then choose Delete Number.
  3. Confirm deletion: In the popup, type Delete to confirm and remove the number from BizStackPro.

Reminder: Deleting removes the number from BizStackPro. Releasing the number is a separate option (covered below).

Resetting a Twilio Number

Resetting is useful when you want to keep the number but clear/reset webhook configuration.

  • When deleting, uncheck Release your phone number as well.
  • Click Confirm Delete to remove it from BizStackPro while keeping it in your Twilio sub-account.
  • Re-add the same Twilio number back into BizStackPro to rebuild/reset webhook routing.

Important: Released numbers may be reserved by Twilio for about 10 days. After that window, you may need to contact Twilio support to attempt recovery.

Note: If your Twilio sub-account is hosted or managed through a different platform, contact their support team to manage number ownership, releases, or recovery.

Keep your phone setup clean and reliable

Deleting or resetting numbers the right way helps prevent webhook issues, routing confusion, and unexpected calling behavior.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete a Twilio number from my account?

Go to Settings → Phone Numbers, select the number, click the three dots, choose Delete Number, and confirm by typing Delete.

Can I reset my Twilio number instead of deleting it?

Yes. When deleting, uncheck Release your phone number as well and confirm. This keeps the number in your Twilio sub-account so you can re-add it to BizStackPro to reset webhooks.

What happens if I release a Twilio number?

Released numbers may be reserved for about 10 days. After that, you may need Twilio support to attempt restoring it.

What if my Twilio sub-account is managed through another system?

Contact that platform’s support team to manage the number or request assistance with releases and recovery.

Manage Twilio numbers with confidence

Whether you’re removing unused numbers or resetting webhook routing, a clean phone setup helps your calling and texting stay consistent inside BizStackPro.
