How to Connect to Your Google My Business Page for Use in the Social Planner

Connect your Google My Business (Google Business Profile) locations to BizStackPro’s Social Planner so you can create, schedule, and publish posts alongside Facebook and Instagram—without switching between tools.

Overview

Social Planner lets you connect multiple channels and manage your posting calendar in one place. When you connect your Google My Business (also known as Google Business Profile), you can publish timely updates—offers, announcements, and local posts—directly to your location(s) alongside your other social accounts.

Before you connect: Use the Gmail account that manages your Google Business Profile locations and ensure you have sufficient permissions (Owner/Manager). If you manage many locations, review the “Chain location” limitation below.

Step 1 — Connect Your Google My Business Profile

Follow these steps to connect your Google My Business (Google Business Profile) locations to Social Planner:

  1. In BizStackPro, go to Marketing → Social Planner.
  2. Click the Settings (gear) icon.
  3. Select Connect a new Google My Business profile.
  4. Choose the Gmail account associated with your Google Business Profile.
  5. When prompted, click Allow to grant the required Google permissions.
  6. Select the location(s) you want available inside Social Planner.

After connecting: Your selected location(s) will appear as posting destinations when you create and schedule content in Social Planner.

Managing Multiple Locations

Social Planner supports multiple Google Business Profile locations. You can manage them anytime from settings.

  • Open Social Planner → click the Settings (gear) icon.
  • View connected Google profiles and the locations currently enabled.
  • Add new locations, disable locations you don’t want to post to, or reconnect if permissions change.

Tip: If you don’t see the correct locations, confirm you authorized the right Gmail account and that your role in Google Business Profile includes the ability to manage posts.

Common Messages & Limitations

“Location already added”

This appears when a location is already connected in Social Planner. The same location can’t be added twice.

“Location already added”

Chain location error (Local Post API disabled)

If your profile is considered a “chain” location set, Google may disable posting through the Local Post API. In that case, publishing from Social Planner won’t be available for those locations.

“This location belongs to a chain. The Local Post API is disabled for this location.”

Good to know: Social Planner can still manage non-chain locations and other social channels. If you manage many locations, you may need a different workflow for “chain” publishing depending on Google’s policies.

Troubleshooting Publishing Issues

If scheduling or publishing to Google My Business fails, run through these quick checks:

  • Confirm permissions: Use the Gmail account that manages the location and verify you have a role that can post.
  • Reconnect Google: Disconnect and reconnect the Google profile in Social Planner settings to refresh permissions.
  • Check location eligibility: If you see the chain/Local Post API message, that location can’t publish via Social Planner.
  • Try again after changes: If you updated permissions in Google, re-authorize the connection in BizStackPro.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect my Google My Business profile to the Social Planner?

Go to Social Planner → Settings → Connect a new Google My Business profile, then choose your Gmail account, authorize access, and select your location(s).

What does the message “Location already added” mean?

It means that location is already connected in Social Planner. The same location can’t be added twice.

Why do I see the error “This location belongs to a chain”?

Google may disable the Local Post API for chain location sets (often more than 10 locations). Those locations can’t publish posts through Social Planner.

Can I manage multiple locations in the Social Planner?

Yes. You can connect and manage multiple locations from Social Planner settings, as long as Google allows Local Post API publishing for those locations.

Where can I find help if publishing to GMB fails?

Check BizStackPro’s Google My Business Publishing Troubleshooting guide and verify permissions, eligibility, and connection status.
