How to Configure the Buttons on Your Website

Control what happens when visitors click—open pop-ups, scroll to sections, visit pages, call, text, email, or trigger membership actions. You can also add entrance and hover animations to make buttons more engaging.

Guiding Visitors Toward the Right Next Step

Buttons play a major role in how visitors move through funnels and websites, especially when users need clear actions to continue browsing, purchase, contact, or navigate.

BizStackPro buttons support multiple action types including page navigation, popups, scrolling, phone calls, SMS, email actions, memberships, external URLs, and one-click purchase actions.

Poorly configured buttons, unclear actions, or inconsistent navigation settings can create confusion, interrupt user flow, and reduce engagement or conversions across your pages.

This guide explains how to configure button actions, manage navigation behavior, apply animations, connect buttons to files or pages, and improve button interactions inside BizStackPro.

Before assigning actions and animations to your buttons, it helps to understand how standard buttons and Navigation Menu items are managed separately inside the builder.

Step 1: Open Your Page and Select the Button

  1. Go to Sites, then choose Websites (or Funnels) and open the project you want to edit.
  2. Navigate to the page you want to update and open the editor.
  3. Click the button you want to configure.
  4. To add a new button, click Add Elements (+)Buttons, then pick a button style.

Good to know: Buttons and Navigation Menu items can look similar, but they’re configured in different places. Standard buttons use the button settings panel; Navigation Menu items are edited inside Navigation Menu Settings.

Step 2: Choose Your Button Action

With the button selected, locate the Link To (action) dropdown in the settings panel. This controls what happens when someone clicks the button.

Common actions include:

  • Open popup
  • Website URL
  • Hide & Show elements
  • Scroll to Element
  • Go to page
  • One-click up/down sell product
  • Call
  • SMS
  • Email address
  • Membership

Tip: If you have lots of sections, name your elements clearly. It makes Scroll to Element easier to use and helps you pick the right target quickly.

Examples:

  • Website URL: Add the full URL, then toggle Open in New Tab if you want it to open in a new browser tab.
You can also link to a hosted file from your Media Library when using Website URL.
  • Scroll to Element: Choose the element to scroll to—items may highlight in the builder as you hover/select.

Entrance and Hover Animations for Buttons

Animations can help important buttons stand out, guide attention, and improve engagement—especially when visitors scroll.

Available animation types

  • Fade
  • Slide
  • Bounce
  • Rotate
  • Zoom

How to add button animations

  1. Select the button inside the editor.
  2. Open the Animations tab in the settings panel.
  3. Choose an entrance and/or hover animation.
  4. Preview inside the builder.
  5. Click Save and then Publish.

Note: Button animation settings were moved from the Advanced tab to the dedicated Animations tab. Existing animation settings should remain intact.

Optional: Configure Navigation Menu Buttons

If your “buttons” are inside a Navigation Menu, configure them from the Navigation Menu settings.

  1. Select the page you want to edit.
  2. Click the Navigation Menu element.
  3. Open Navigation Menu Settings in the settings panel.
  4. Scroll to Menu Items and click Edit for the item you want to change.
  5. Enter a website URL or choose a page, then click Submit.
  6. Repeat for each menu item.
  7. Click Save to confirm updates.

Important: Navigation menus are configured per page. If the same menu appears on multiple pages, update it on each page where it’s used.

Create smoother navigation and stronger calls-to-action

Well-configured buttons guide visitors, reduce confusion, and make it easier for people to take the next step—especially on mobile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add multiple actions to a single button?

No. Each button can only have one action assigned at a time. If you need multiple actions, create separate buttons for each action.

How do I ensure a button link opens in a new tab?

When you select Website URL, enable Open in New Tab so the link opens in a new browser tab.

Can I use custom animations for buttons?

Yes. Use the Animations tab to add entrance and hover animations like fade, slide, bounce, rotate, and zoom.

Do I need to configure navigation buttons for each page separately?

Yes. Navigation menus are page-level elements, so you must configure and save menu buttons on every page where that navigation appears.

How do I link a button to a file from the Media Library?

Choose Website URL as the action and select the hosted file from your Media Library, then save and publish.

Make every button click count

Combine clear button actions with light animations to improve user flow, highlight key sections, and boost conversions across your websites and funnels.
