Connecting Your Instagram Business Account to the Social Planner Social Media Tool

Connect an Instagram Business or Creator profile so you can schedule content, centralize social publishing, and track performance from one place.

Overview

Social Planner lets you manage channels like Instagram and Facebook from a single dashboard. To enable direct publishing and related features, your Instagram profile must be a Business or Creator account and it must be connected to a Facebook Page.

In this guide: You’ll switch to a professional Instagram account, enable cross-app messaging access, and connect Instagram through the Social Planner connection wizard.

Part 1 — Switch to an Instagram Business or Creator Profile

Personal Instagram profiles can’t be connected. First, switch your account to a professional profile.

  1. Open the Instagram app and go to your profile.
  2. Tap the three-line menu (top-right).
  3. Tap Settings (or Settings and privacy).
  4. Go to Account → Switch to Professional Account → Continue.
  5. Choose a Category → Done → OK.
  6. Select Business (or Creator) → Next.
  7. Add contact details (optional), or select Don’t use my contact info.

Important: Instagram may show Facebook Page linking as “optional,” but it’s required for direct publishing through most scheduling tools (including Social Planner).

Part 2 — Allow Instagram Messaging Connections Across Apps

To support cross-app messaging access (through Meta tools and approved integrations), enable messaging connections.

Enable access to messages

  1. In Instagram, open your Business or Creator profile.
  2. Tap Settings and privacy.
  3. Select Messages → Message controls.
  4. Under Connected tools, toggle on Allow access to messages.

What it changes: When enabled, approved tools and team members can view/manage Instagram DMs outside the Instagram app. If disabled, DMs remain available only inside Instagram.

Part 3 — Connect Your Instagram Profile to Social Planner

Step 1 — Open Social Planner

In BizStackPro, go to Marketing → Social Planner.

Step 2 — Log in with Facebook

  1. Click Connect in the Social Planner setup wizard.
  2. Select Facebook as the connection method.
  3. Log in using the Facebook account that manages the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram profile.
  4. Approve the permissions requested so Social Planner can access your connected assets.

Step 3 — Select Instagram Business profile(s)

After approval, you’ll see Instagram Business profiles available under your Facebook account.

  • Select the Instagram Business/Creator profile(s) you want to connect.
  • Confirm to complete the connection.

Not verified? If your Instagram profile shows as not verified, it usually means it isn’t properly linked to a Facebook Page. Fix the Instagram ↔ Facebook Page connection, then retry in Social Planner.

Once connected, you can schedule posts, plan your calendar, and monitor performance metrics from Social Planner.

Centralize your Instagram posting workflow

Once connected, you can schedule content in advance, stay consistent, and track performance—all from your BizStackPro Social Planner.
