Attribute inbound calls to specific campaigns and traffic sources with Number Pools, dynamic swapping, and simple funnel integration.
When calls start coming in from ads, emails, social media, and websites, it becomes difficult to know which campaigns are actually producing results.
Call tracking uses dynamic number swapping and Number Pools to connect inbound calls to the traffic source that generated them.
Without tracking, businesses often spend money on campaigns without clear visibility into what is driving phone calls and conversions.
This guide will walk you through how call tracking works so you can measure attribution, test campaigns more effectively, and improve marketing decisions.
To begin, review how call tracking works and how Number Pools connect calls to specific traffic sources.
BizStackPro uses Number Pools to display different tracking numbers to visitors based on their source (ads, email, social, keywords). When calls come in, attribution is recorded so you can see which channels and campaigns drive results.
Follow along: Create a Number Pool → add the tracking snippet → publish → test in an incognito window.
Pro tip: Name pools by source (e.g., Google Ads – Roofing) so attribution is obvious in reports.
Configure a whisper message (example: “new call from ad campaigns”) and optionally enable call recording (follow local laws). Click Activate Number, then Done.
In Phone Numbers → Tracking Numbers, choose how your Swapping Numbers display on pages:
111-222-3333, 111.222.3333, or (111) 222-3333 (U.S.).
For page-specific swaps, paste the snippet on that page’s Settings → Tracking Code → Footer Code.
Visit the page in an incognito/private window and confirm the displayed number changes according to the visitor source. If you’re testing ads, use the actual ad click URL (with UTM parameters) so attribution can be detected.
Append ?keyword={keyword} to your ad URL (example: /landingpage?keyword={keyword}) to record the searched term prior to a call.
Example:
Your ad URL becomes https://yourdomain.com/landingpage?keyword={keyword}.
When the visitor calls, the keyword can be stored with attribution.
Attribute calls by source and keyword so you can double-down on what works—and stop guessing.
Opens in a new tab.
Call tracking links inbound calls to their source so you can measure ROI and optimize campaigns.
Use visitor activity for dynamic swapping across sources. Use marketing campaign to isolate one initiative.
Swapping Numbers display on your pages and can change by source. Pool Numbers are the purchased numbers behind the attribution.
Local numbers support local presence, toll-free supports national reach, and area-code numbers help target regions.
Open the Number Pool info (i icon), copy the Normal Snippet, and paste it into your funnel/site tracking code (usually Footer Code).
Use an incognito/private window and confirm the number changes based on visitor source.
Append ?keyword={keyword} to your ad URL so the searched term is recorded before a call.
Number Pools + swapping numbers give you clear attribution—so you know which ads, emails, and keywords drive real conversations.
Better attribution. Better ROI.
