Billing Address Field for Ecommerce Store Checkout

Overview

The Billing Address field for ecommerce stores lets you collect billing information separately from the shipping address during checkout. This gives you more control over how customer data is stored and improves clarity in order records, packing slips, and emails.

You can enable or disable the billing address as needed, allow customers to use the same address as shipping with a single checkbox, and customize the text labels shown on the checkout form.

How to Enable and Configure the Billing Address Field

Step 1 – Open the Store Builder

1. Go to your Store Builder in BizStackPro.
2. Navigate to the Checkout Page for your ecommerce store.

Step 2 – Select the Checkout Element

1. Click on the Checkout element on the page.
2. Open the Advanced section in the Settings panel.

Step 3 – Enable the Billing Address

1. Under Form Options, locate Enable Billing Address.
2. Toggle it ON to activate the billing address section.

Step 4 – Customize Billing Address Text

1. Go to Text Options in the checkout element’s General settings.
2. Customize the billing headline.
3. Edit the Same as shipping address checkbox text.
4. Update labels for Full Name, Phone Number, Address, Country, State, City, and Zip Code as needed.

Step 5 – Save and Publish

1. Click Save in the store builder.
2. Publish or update your checkout page.
3. Test checkout to confirm billing fields appear and save correctly.

Where the Billing Address Appears

After a customer completes checkout, the billing address can show in several parts of the ecommerce experience.

• Order Details Page: Shows below shipping address in the order view.
• Customer Access Center (CAS): Visible in the customer’s Order Details section.
• Packing Slips: Billing and shipping details appear together.
• Thank You Pages: Billing details show alongside shipping info.
• Order Confirmation Email: Billing address is included in confirmation emails.

Important Notes

• New locations: Billing address may be enabled by default.
• Existing locations: Billing address may be disabled by default until you enable it.
• Custom fields behavior: Billing address fields are typically non-editable and non-deletable once created.
• Tax calculations: Billing address is currently not connected to tax calculations.

Best Practices

• Keep billing vs. shipping labels clear to reduce checkout confusion.
• Encourage the “Same as shipping” checkbox for most buyers to speed checkout.
• Review confirmation emails so billing/shipping blocks are easy to read.
• For higher-value orders, consider reviewing cases where billing and shipping differ.
